The company continues to gather and exchange ideas for current and future development and work based on our happiness within our communities. We work in the following ways:1. Developing people’s positivity through leading activities, trainings and events based on cultivating our potential and developing Our Happiness Factor2. Promoting ideas for positive health and wellbeing thorough activities, trainings, events and online tools.3. Enabling individuals and communities to connect by encouraging the creation and support of social networks.4. Inspiring people to access opportunities provided by Our Happiness Factor by providing arts, creative and media programmes that promote happiness and wellbeing, in a friendly, socially inclusive and culturally sensitive environment5. Sharing these ideas to inform, educate, advise and connect with communities throughout the world. 6. In November 2020, we were successful in securing funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, which allowed us to create an LGBTQ+ Festival of Happiness. Our goal was to ignite happiness, creativity, and resilience, through connection that rippled out across the world by introducing people to their innate wellbeing, unlimited potential and human experience. We facilitated 2 x 6 sessions The Little Shop of Happiness. Creative Writing Workshops, Laughter Yoga and Meditation sessions throughout 10 days of activity. Initially the project was aimed at people living in Greater Manchester, however, given the reach of online media, we attracted 300 people from around the world. Eventbrite views 2,500 people. USA, Canada, Portugal, Singapore, France, UK, Malaysia, Spain, China and Australia. “Thank you for the incredible journey we’ve been on and hopefully it will continue well into the future.” “The workshop has rekindled my desire to reconnect with my writing.” “I feel fantastic.” “I didn’t realise how deep I could get into relaxation and so quickly”. Evaluation of the project provided feedback from participants and stakeholders and increased the number of people engaged worldwide in our activities. 7. Our Handmade Communities programme in the summer of 2021 focused on reconnecting people in our neighbourhoods, following lockdown. We created a number of mini workshops that focused on building new relationships, generating new ideas and building confidence in connecting with others again. It allowed Our Happiness Factor to embed deeper into our local community, make new connections and build lasting relationships that continue today. 8. Our Happiness Walks were facilitated over the summer period, these were exploratory walks that promoted wellbeing, community connection and infused life coaching to help people unleash their unlimited potential.
The company’s activities are carried on for the benefit of individual residents, community groups and the wider community. In particular this includes people in the UK and around the world who wish to engage with us on happiness (so pretty much anyone). This year there has been no formal consultation with stakeholders but lots of informal discussions.
