NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS |
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2018 |
1. | STATUTORY INFORMATION |
Coffee Island (London C) Ltd is a
company's registered number and registered office address can be found on the Company Information page. |
The presentation currency of the financial statements is the Pound Sterling (£). |
2. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
Basis of preparing the financial statements |
The financial statements have been prepared on going concern basis as the directors are satisfied that the |
company will have adequate resources to meet its liability to third parties as they fall due. |
Significant judgements and estimates |
In the application of the company's accounting policies, the director is required to make judgements, estimates |
and assumptions about the carrying amount of assets and liabilities that are not readily apparent from other |
sources. The estimates and associated assumptions are based on historical experience and other factors that |
are relevant. Actual results may differ from these estimates. |
The estimates and underlying assumptions are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Revisions to accounting |
estimates are recognised in the period in which the estimate is revised where the revision affects only that |
period or in the period of the revision and future periods where the revision affects both current and future |
periods. |
There are no significant judgements or estimates involved in the preparation of the financial statements. |
Cash and cash equivalents |
Cash and cash equivalents in the statement of financial position comprise cash at banks and in hand and short |
term deposits with an original maturity date of one month. |
Cash equivalents are defined as short-term, highly liquid investments that are readily convertible to known |
amounts of cash and that are subject to an insignificant risk of changes in value. |
Income and deferred tax |
Income tax expense represents the sum of the tax currently payable and deferred tax. The tax currently payable |
is based on taxable profit for the year. The Company's liability for current tax is calculating using tax rates that |
have been enacted or substantively enacted by the end of the reporting period. |
Deferred tax is recognised on material timing differences between carrying amounts of assets and liabilities in |
the financial statements and the corresponding tax bases used in the computation of taxable profit. |
Deferred tax liabilities are generally recognised for all taxable timing differences. Deferred tax assets and |
liabilities are measured at the tax rates that are expected to apply in the period in which the liability is settled or |
the asset is realised, based on tax rates that have been enacted by the end of the reporting period. |
Current or deferred tax for the year is recognised in profit or loss, except when they relate to items that are |
recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity. |
Financial instruments |
Basic financial instruments are recognised at amortised cost, except for investments in non-convertible |
preference and non-puttable ordinary shares which are measured at fair value, with changes recognised in |
profit or loss. Derivative financial instruments are initially recorded at cost and thereafter at fair value with |
changes recognised in profit or loss. |
3. | EMPLOYEES AND DIRECTORS |
The average number of employees during the year was NIL (2017 - NIL). |
