South East Psychology CIC provides educational psychology services to schools and academies. We are an alternative to purchasing services from the local authority. In the 2019-20 financial year we:-Provided educational psychology service level agreements to 40 schools/ academies across Lewisham, Hackney, Bromley, Bexley, Croydon, Newham, Kent and Medway local authorities.-Provided ELSA training for 12 teachers/ teaching assistants, with 5 of the places free.-In October 2019 we hosted and subsidised training in paediatric sleep disorders for 19 educational psychologists from across the UK.We have benefitted the local community by:-Providing access to educational psychology services in a climate where mental health difficulties in children and young people are increasing but local authorities have extremely limited capacity to provide support beyond basic statutory duties.-Providing services at a very competitive rate- meaning that schools do not need to commission support via agencies.-Providing continuity of relationships when this is often not possible in local authority services due to the dependency on short term locums.-Offering free ELSA training to all schools purchasing SLAs of a minimum of 6 days, meaning that schools’ capacity to support children and young people with emotional and mental health difficulties is increased.-Providing subsidised training for psychologists aimed at promoting the mental health and well-being of children and young people. We continued to deliver all services remotely through the pandemic school closures, whilst visiting schools when possible in the context of careful risk assessments. Our aim was always to safeguard the well-being of children and young people at the same time as minimising risks to our team.
The stakeholders are the clients who commission our services- schools and parents/ carers. They are consulted annually by asking for an evaluation of the service and inviting improvement suggestions. In the 2019/20 survey:100% of respondents rated the quality of our service as above average or excellent.100% of respondents rated the reliability of our service as excellent.100% of respondents rated the value for money of our service as above average or excellent. With reference to remote working, one school commented:“The focus of support has in general been different this year. It has in fact been as excellent if not more so as teachers have had more non-contact time (from pupils) in order to engage with the EP.”
The director received a salary of £48,000 and no dividend payment. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
