Activity 1 - Skills Development, Health, and Well-being.Making scrubs with PROVIDEcic and distributing them within the community.Delivering Online exercise classes, taster sessions for ESOL, and silk painting on Zoom.Grant received for Computer training and computer delivery to BAME Community.Sessions delivered in partnership with Ideas Hub in ChelmsfordThe foraging Project was delivered for a new way of discovery. We continued catering for the 2020 – 2021 Financial year, EMAN has focussed on securing outside catering opportunities The benefit to the BAME community.We were able to reach faraway places to deliver the scrubs of NHS and reduce isolation.Upgrading the EMAN website, Instagram, business face page, and Whatsapp has increased community engagement and linked to mainstream provision. Zoom, exercise classes, SILK painting, and ESOL classes had a positive impact on the mental health of the BAME in essexEncourage and interact with the wider community and develop skills BAME members were empowered in food and hygiene safety (we are 5 stars rated kitchen), food preparation, catering as a business, managing a budget, and interacting with the public in a positive environment whilst developing communication skills, building confidence and exporting discovery of BAME culture via food.Activity 2- Cultural Engagement for Integration.Culture in the park organized by Chelmsford Museum, developed skills and helped food stalls and henna activities for the community. Supporting “Muslim Community group” in fundraising for a local Muslim center.Participation and celebration with ESSEX Cultural Diversity Project.Regular development of Girls Youth group participation with heritage and culture.Benefits of the projectBoth BAME and the Wider community benefited by developing Heritage and encouraging participation. Local community was very involved in events, henna, and food stalls increasing business for everyone.Build confidence for Youth groups that are involved in local heritage and culture. Activity 3- EMAN Catering Collaboration with ECDP, CCC, and Active Essex Funding to provide Food for the holiday break with some activities on 14th Feb 2020 for a week and then on 26th July 2021. We are working in partnership with, Harlow Integrated Support Services(ISS) to support unaccompanied Minor for integration, by providing food for them.We are also part of the regular celebrations of the festivals, like fling and Essex Youth Services.Benefits to the BAME community:Regular cultural exposure of BAME culture to the wider community to build confidence and regular income generation. Future Projects explored for the unaccompanied Minors Youth in Harlow Regular uptake of BAME community to physical and healthy lifestyle changes. Activity 3- Getting the BAME voice heard locally:EMAN continued to represent the voice of the local BAME community on the board of Chelmsford Cultural Local Partnership and is supporting cultural events and strategic decisions about the cultural future of Chelmsford.Benefits to the BAME communityGetting the BAME voice heard especially as Chelmsford is not very cosmopolitan and therefore where ethnic minorities are very small and usually forgotten
EMAN runs regular consultations with its main stakeholders: Essex County Council, Essex Cultural Diversity Project, Chelmsford CVS, Ideas Hub Chelmsford, Mencap Chelmsford, Chelmsford Mosque, Iqra Learning Centre, BAME Community in Essex including Chelmsford, Braintree, Basildon and Thurrock, Chelmsford City Council, Ignite Chelmsford, Chelmsford Museum, Essex Community Foundation, NHS Provide and the South Asian Community, Active EssexAll stakeholders were pleased with their work's relationship with EMAN and happy to carry working in collaboration on projects for the benefit of the communityProjects chosen to focus on for 2020-2021- Making of scrubs for NHS staff.-BAME Youth: to design and restart the youth club in 2021.-BAME participation in activities through Zoom and telephone consultation due to COVID. Then Face to Face
