1 Accounting Policies
Basis of measurement and preparation of accounts
Turnover policy
Revenue is recorded net of returns, discounts and VAT.
Provision of services
Revenue from the provision of services is recognised when the service is provided and the revenue can be measured reliably, based on the terms of the contract.
Finance income
Finance income is recognised in the period in which it relates using the effective rate of interest.
Other accounting policies
The financial statements are prepared in accordance with applicable United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice), which have been applied consistently (except as otherwise stated).
Foreign currency translation
Monetary assets and liabilities denominated in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rates of exchange ruling at the balance sheet date. Transactions in foreign currencies are recorded at the rate ruling at the date of the transaction. All differences are taken to profit and loss account.
Financial instruments
Financial instruments are classified and accounted for according to the substance of the contractual arrangement, as either financial assets, liabilities or equity instruments. An equity instrument is any contract that evidences a residual interest in the assets of the company, after deducting all liabilities.
