The G.B. Racketlon Association CIC facilitates the sport of Racketlon in the UK, promoting an accessible, healthy sporting activity to all genders, ages and abilities. This is primarily represented by the UK Tour, which featured in this period, 9 events with 455 entries (including 58 U16s and an average of 3.93 men to every woman). We continued our Super Series for its third iteration, the highlight of which is a 3 way junior shoot out in the final event in July 2019. We also have just hosted our County Championships which included a team comprising entirely our junior players. At the 2018 World Championships, we entered 10 teams, with our U13s, U16s and O55s crowned World Champions. Our GB First Team finished second, their best result to date in World Team Championship which we have entered since it was started in 2002. Our GB Second Team won the second tier Nations Cup. Our O45s Team won silver and our O65s won bronze on their debut. We also saw Brits crowned singles World Champions in the Men's O40s, Women's O50s, Men's O50s, Men's O55s, Men's O60s, Boys U13s, Boys U16s, Girls U21s and Boys U21s. The 2019 World Championships will be held in Leipzig in November and we will be entering a record 12 teams including four U16s teams (due to the strength of our junior tour). GBRA also promoted the sport through our website, social media channels (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) and a regular newsletter.
As governing body, the objective of the GBRA is to promote Racketlon in the United Kingdom, making Racketlon and multi-racket sports (table tennis, badminton, squash and tennis as one concept) accessible to as many groups and individuals as possible, excluding no one. Racketlon is fun, clean and healthy. England has excellent facilities for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy Racketlon and the GBRA is committed to facilitate and encourage that enjoyment. There have been no specific consultations. However upon continued feedback from stakeholders we have continued to expand into new geographies, specifically this year into the Cotswolds.
