financial statements of Barbican Properties Limited for the year ended 30 April 2015 which comprise the Profit and |
Loss Account, the Balance Sheet, and the related notes from the company's accounting records and from information |
and explanations you have given us. |

1. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
|
Accounting convention |
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the |
Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective April 2008). |
|
Turnover |
Turnover represents the total invoice value, excluding value added tax, of sales made during the year and derives |
from the provision of goods and services falling within the company's ordinary activities. |
|
Investment property |
Investment properties are stated at open market value. In accordance with SSAP 19 |
|
i)investment properties are revalued annually and the aggregate surplus or deficit is transferred to a revaluation |
reserve, and |
ii)no depreciation or amortisation is provided in respect of investment properties |
|
The directors consider that this accounting policy results in the financial statements giving a true and fair view. |
Depreciation is only one of many factors reflected in the annual valuation and the amount which otherwise might |
have been shown cannot be separately identified or quantified. |
|
Deferred tax |
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance |
sheet date. |
