1. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
|
Accounting convention |
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the |
Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective January 2015). |
|
Going concern |
As outlined in the directors report, the company's primary contract was terminated during the year under review. |
This action has had a detrimental impact on the value of assets estimated useful life, and accordingly the assets |
have been restated at their net realisable value. |
|
Turnover |
Turnover represents net invoiced amounts relating to plant hire and the haulage of high quality coals and |
minerals during the year, excluding value added tax. |
|
Tangible fixed assets |
Depreciation is provided at the following rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life. |

Deferred tax |
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the |
balance sheet date. |

Deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that the director considers that it is more likely than not |
there will be suitable profits from which the future reversal of the underlying timing differences can be deducted. |
|
Hire purchase and leasing commitments |
Assets obtained under hire purchase contracts or finance leases are capitalised in the balance sheet. Those |
held under hire purchase contracts are depreciated over their estimated useful lives. Those held under finance |
leases are depreciated over their estimated useful lives or the lease term, whichever is the shorter. |
|
The interest element of these obligations is charged to the profit and loss account over the relevant period. The |
capital element of the future payments is treated as a liability. |
|
Rentals paid under operating leases are charged to the profit and loss account on a straight line basis over the |
period of the lease. |
|
Pension costs and other post-retirement benefits |
The company operates a defined contribution pension scheme. Contributions payable to the company's |
pension scheme are charged to the profit and loss account in the period to which they relate. |
