1. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
|
Accounting convention |
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by the |
revaluation of certain assets and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller |
Entities (effective April 2008). |
|
Turnover |
Turnover represents the value of sales to customers and rent due from tenants for the year exclusive of |
value added tax. |
|
Investment property |
Depreciation has not been provided on the investment property as it was revalued at open market |
value at 30 June 2011 by the directors. This is in accordance with the treatment of investment |
properties in the Financial Reporting Standards for Smaller Entities (effective April 2008). This |
constitutes a departure from the statutory rules requiring fixed assets to be depreciated over their |
estimated useful lives, and is necessary to enable the financial statements to give a true and fair view. |

Stocks |
Stocks are valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value, after making due allowance for |
obsolete and slow moving items. |
